Every year, the ICEE Annual Conference travels to different cultural scenarios around the world, providing a unique multicultural and multidisciplinary platform for the discussion of relevant topics related to exhibition development, circulation and exchange. This annual event provides networking and business development opportunities aimed at developing new collaborations and strengthening current partnerships.

The ICEE Annual Conference brings together professionals from all over the world working in different aspects of exhibition development, circulation and exchange. The majority of ICEE members work in museums, but ICEE conferences increasingly attract exhibition professionals from the private sector, echoing the evolving environment of the travelling exhibition sector.

The 2018 Conference, Cultural Heritage: Transition and Transformation, was organized by the International Committee for Exhibition Exchange (ICEE) and the International Committee for Museums and Collections of Fine Arts (ICFA) of the International Council of Museums (ICOM), in collaboration with “la Caixa” Foundation.

•    What activities will take place at the 2018 ICEE ICFA Annual Conference?
This year’s programme is filled with a diversity of ideas, case studies and experiences of professionals from 21 different countries. Conference registration fee includes access to all sessions, workshops, off-site visits and special networking events throughout the week, allowing participants exclusive access to some of the finest cultural institutions in Madrid and Barcelona.

•    What is the Marketplace of Exhibition and Ideas?
Structured as a series of short lightning-style talks, the ICEE Marketplace of Exhibitions and Ideas session provides a unique networking platform to reach all ICEE conference attendees. During this engaging session, museum and exhibition professionals are invited to present their touring exhibition projects and/or projects in development, as well as innovative ideas concerning new concepts, methods, or techniques with the purpose of communicating new approaches in international exhibition exchange. The 8-10 minute presentations are selected based on one-page proposals.

•    Why should I participate in the 2018 Marketplace of Exhibition and Ideas?
This 2.5-hour conference session provides a dynamic platform to learn about a wide variety of touring exhibitions and other exhibition-related projects in development around the world, facilitating invaluable international networking opportunities for both presenters and attendees.

•    Would the ICEE issue an invitation letter for the purpose of travel to Spain?
